Single Family Housing Repair Loans & Grants are available through state and federal programs. Shawano has done a great job with public housing, but there are many privately owned homes in need of paint and repair. I propose we reach out to the owners and assist in securing these loans and grants for the improvement of their homes. Shawano did this in the 1980's and 90's with wonderful results. I recall that the East Faith Street area was transformed from blighted to a repaired and pleasant neighborhood. If the money is available, we should assist our residents to secure these loans and grants.
