Full-Time Finance Director
The City of Shawano is looking to fill a new Finance Director employment position.  The position is responsible for the financial management, oversight, and reporting for all fiscal activities of Shawano Municipal Utilities (SMU), the Badger Power Marketing Authority (BPWA), the City of Shawano, and subsidiary funds.  Principal duties include: oversight of the general ledger, payroll, accounts payable/receivable, debt administration, budget preparation, cash flow management, and utility billing/collections; preparing the general ledger and financial statements for the annual financial audits, and preparing accurate regulatory reports , monthly financial statements, cash flow and performance reports.

Full-Time Public Works Landfill Scale Clerk
The City of Shawano is looking to fill a full-time position for Public Works Landfill Scale Clerk.  Standard operating hours are Monday through Friday from 7 am to 3 pm.  Seasonal Saturday hours also required.  Applicants must be available for overtime.  The position offers a starting wage of $14.00 per hour plus benefits.

Limited Term Employment Position - Park and Facilities Laborer


The Parks and Facilities laborer will perform a variety of semi-skilled tasks utilized hand tools and will operate a wide variety of small equipment for maintenance of parkland, Woodlawn Cemetery and several City owned buildings.

Qualifications:  a High School diploma or equivalent is required; post-secondary education preferred;.  The preferred candidate will have 1-2 years of experience in maintenance and operation of light equipment.  The salary range is $13.00-$13.50 per hour depending upon qualifications.

Limited Term Employment Position - Housing Code Inspector


The City of Shawano is looking to fill a new limited term employment position in the Building Inspection Department. The Housing Code Inspector will perform a variety of technical duties in support of the City’s local code enforcement program; monitor and enforce a variety of ordinances, codes, and regulations related to zoning, land use, nuisance, housing, building codes, health and safety, blight, graffiti, water waste, and other matters of public concern; and serve as a resource and provide information on City regulations to property owners, residents, businesses, the general public, and other City departments.  The preferred candidate will have strong problem-solving and excellent communication skills, and be team oriented.  Qualifications: A High School diploma or equivalent is required, must be at least 18 years of age, and possess a valid WI Drivers License. The salary for this position will be $9.50 - $11.50/hour depending upon qualifications.  Those applying must be available to work up to 20 hours per week, from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm from April to November of each year. (The 2017 schedule would be June to November.) This is a Limited Term Employment position, with a firm end date and no commitment to employment upon completion of the position.
