Liquor Licensing Information
General Licensing Information
Liquor and/or Beer Licenses run from July 1st to June 30th.
The City of Shawano will mail out reminder letters for license renewals in March of every year. We no longer mail out hard copies of the renewal forms, however all forms can be obtained on our website or by stopping in to City Hall.
Please remember to also go to the "Non-Liquor Licensing Information" page to find your other required applications (i.e. Amusement, Cigarette, etc.).
State Law requires that all applications for liquor and/or beer licenses must be submitted to the City Clerk's office at least fifteen (15) days before the Common Council mat act upon the application.

Please note that if you are applying for an Original Liquor License or would like to make a change to your current Agent or Owner information you MUST contact City Hall to obtain the proper paperwork.

Payment Information
A $20.00 fee is due at the time of filing a liquor license application to cover the publication cost. The entire license fee may also be paid at this time to avoid the end of June rush. This also provides more flexibility in who picks up the license. No separate invoice will be sent. If payment is received at time of filing, the City will deliver the license at the end of June; no need to remember to pick them up.
Liquor License Fees
Class A Liquor License: $500.00
Class A Beer License: $100.00
Class B Liquor License: $500.00
Class B Beer License: $100.00
Class C Wine License: $100.00
6-Month Class B Beer License: $50.00
Picnic License (Does not require $20 publication fee.): $10.00/three day event
Pickup and Delivery of Licenses
License Pickup Date
Licenses may be picked up at City Hall after June 25th of each year. Payment for licenses may be made prior to June 15th. However, they will not be available for pickup until June 25th.
*License Delivery
If the license fee payment is received at the time of filing and all outstanding and/or delinquent bills owed to the City (i.e. property taxes, personal property taxes, bills for fire call, snow removal, grass cutting, weights and measures, SMU Utility bills, etc.) are paid, the City will deliver the license to the business address on or around June 30th. No need to remember to pick them up!
